The Doodle That Started It All
Every good story begins with something small.
For Louie & Pals, it began many years ago with a grandfather, a pen, and a simple little drawing.
Amanda’s Grandpa Louis loved writing to people. Whether it was a thoughtful note, a cheerful card, or a message meant to make someone smile, he believed words had a special way of bringing people closer together. He wasn’t much of an artist, but every now and then while show showing Amanda and her sister how to draw, he would doodle little things on the page.
One of those doodles was a tiny little chicken.
At the time, it was just a simple sketch. But sometimes the smallest drawings hold the biggest stories.
The Doodle Finds Its Voice
Years passed, but that little chicken never quite left Amanda’s heart.
After her grandpa passed, Amanda came across some of his drawings again. Among them was that same small chicken - simple, imperfect, and full of charm. Seeing it again felt like a quiet reminder of the joy her grandpa loved to bring to others.
That tiny drawing slowly became something more.
And that’s when Louie was born.
Named in honor of Grandpa Louis, Louie the Chicken became the cheerful little character who now leads the whimsical world of Louie & Pals.
Louie is curious, a little mischievous, and always ready to spread a smile. What started as one small chicken slowly grew into a playful cast of pals and a collection of whimsical cards and art meant to brighten someone’s day.
Because Louie believes laughter belongs everywhere - especially in someones mailbox.

Behind Louie and his pals is Amanda - the artist and storyteller who brought their worlds to life.
Inspired by memories of her Grandpa Louis and a love for creating meaningful connections, Amanda began turning Louie’s story into playful illustrations and heartfelt cards.
Each creation carries the same simple idea her grandpa believed in: that even the smallest message can make someone feel remembered.
The Original Pal
Every story needs a loyal companion.
For Amanda, that companion was Jasper - her beloved dog who was always nearby during the early days of Louie & Pals. Whether Amanda was sketching ideas or imagining new characters, Jasper was often right there beside her.
Gentle, loyal, and full of personality, Jasper quietly became one of the original pals behind the scenes.
Though he’s no longer here, his spirit of companionship and joy remains part of the heart behind Louie & Pals.
Because once you’re a pal, you’re always part of the story.
